Western Docks Gas Leak Latest Update

Please see the latest update regarding the gas leak affecting the Motis site at Dover Western Docks.

A major gas leak has now been located and repaired. Engineers are continuing checks along the gas line to identify any further leaks and are working 24/7 to resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible.

This is a Western Docks site infrastructure issue and is outside the operational control of Motis. We are working closely with all relevant parties to minimise disruption.

Current Service Status

• Dover FSA remains open, although the main building remains temporarily closed while safety checks continue.
• Parking for vehicles not attending for customs formalities is currently unavailable. Alternative parking is available at Motis Cheriton Parc, Cheriton High Street, Folkestone, CT19 4QJ.
• Main building facilities are currently unavailable, including reception, café, showers and toilets. An external toilet facility remains available.
• Motis Freeflow Customs Services are fully operational, using a hybrid operation with staff working both onsite from temporary facilities and remotely.
• Freeflow customers should therefore experience minimal disruption to customs services.
• Non-EU vehicles requiring T1 discharge at Dover FSA may access the site and wait onsite until the required service is available.

We will continue to provide updates and will advise customers as soon as we have confirmation of when the site and all facilities will be fully operational again.
